Star Wars 8, "The Last Jedi" will come out in December. There are many unanswered questions. Will they be answered?
Who is Rey? Is she the reincarnation of Shmi Skywalker? Is she Luke's daughter? Is she Emporer Palpatine's daughter? Who is Supreme Leader Snoke? Is he Lord Vitiate? Is he Emporer Palpatine? Darth Plagueis? Will Luke turn to the Dark side? Will Rey? Will Kylo Ren turn to the Light side? Who is Maz Kanata? How did she get Luke's Lightsaber? How did The First Order start? Will Obi-Wan or Yoda or Aniken communicate as Force Ghosts in this movie? How might this movie end and lead in to Star Wars 9 ? #StarWars8 #TheLastJedi #Scifi #StarWars #Movies #BestOfWeebly #CoolStuff #LukeSkywalker #YouTube

The Big Bang. Most people say it as if it's a given. A fact. But it's really a theory. Science, if it's good science, involves Observation and repeatability. But none of today's scientists, or you or me, were present at creation, or to observe the Big Bang. And we can't recreate it all over again, ourselves. So we don't know. We speculate on how the Universe began.
I seem to remember reading that The Big Bang Theory didn't come along until 1927. So, what did the general public believe in, say, 1925? Even after 1927, in the 1950's, there was astronomer Fred Hoyle and his "Steady-state Theory." I think it makes more sense. As far as The Big Bang goes, how did the "beginning ball of stuff" get here? It was always here? What caused it to explode outward? How long was it "just sitting there in space" before it finally went "bang"? The Steady-State idea can also say "all the stuff of the Universe was always here", too, and that as some things unravel or break up, other parts are "jelling", coming together and new stars, planets, solar systems, etc. are being created. To me, that seems simpler and even somewhat easier to believe. The idea of The Big Bang is widely accepted but I think it often "wins" just because people don't bother to look for other explanations, or better one's. Question authority. What other ideas are there? Fred Hoyle's Steady State is one. Are you aware of any others? Are any of them just as believable, or more so? #Science #Astronomy #Opinions We all like to think we are right in our opinions.
But when two people disagree, how do we decide? Is someone a loud-mouth or are you just too quiet? What is too loud? What is too quiet? Is someone organized or too persnickety? If you are business-like, do you see more informal types as sloppy and bohemian slackers? If you are informal, do you see many others as too business-like, stiff and needing to relax? I think the problem is two things: 1. All of us are in a sense "judge and jury" on these things and we use ourselves as the guideline. Anyone who is MORE a certain way than we are, is "too much" and anyone who is LESS a certain way than we are is "slacking" and needs to get with it. We measure others against ourselves. So what to do? I think a Big Help would be to: 2. DEFINE what WE mean by: quiet, loud, sloppy, meticulous, too much, not enough, etc. Say where you draw-the-line, and why there. But too many people don't do that. It's too easy to say someone who doesn't do it our way is wrong or weird. And we're too abrupt and impatient to make an effort to understand the other person. It would be much better to calmly ask why they do it they way they do, and listen. If more of us did that more often, it would go a long way to a better understanding of each other. Then, it's easier to relate and communicate and we feel more comfortable around each other. And those, are always good things. #Communication #Relationships They are called: The Moai. These are mysterious large rock statues on Easter Island, west of Chile, South America.
Why were these built at all? For what purpose? Who do they represent? How were they made? What is the meaning? What makes people tick?
I have, and like, this book: Life Types. You can get it from www.Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Lifetypes-Sandra-Krebs-Hirsh/dp/0446388238/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1414617090&sr=1-1&keywords=life+types (Copy & paste that long address into your web-browser). We all have different personalities. Some people we really "click" with. Others, can be difficult. Our differences can make it hard to communicate. Therefore, understanding each other better is a good thing. This book, Life Types is a good tool for that. At least it can give you more insight into why people are the way they are. No, I don't think this "has all the answers". For example: There are 16 personalities. Each one has 4 letters. Example: ISTP. (Introvert, Sensor, Thinker, Perceiver). There is a "profile" for all 16 types. And for me, that's the problem. 2 or 3 of them seem to fit me about 75%, but there's usually also 1 or 2 things that dont fit or are way-off. Still, I think this is all useful and good to know about, anyway. Insight & understanding are good things. They help us communicate better. The Types, deal alot with our Preferences. Examples: Are you more of an Extrovert, or Introvert? E vs. I (1st letter of the 4). Are you more Big-picture and possibilities or are you more just-the-facts and here-and-now. N vs. S (2nd letter of the 4). Do you make decisions MORE on logic and efficiency (thinker, T) or more by how everyone will feel about it (Feeler, F). Note: for all of these, it is NOT a matter of being one or the other. We all CAN do both/either. Feelers can think and Thinkers can feel. It's about Preferences and what we usually do, what we naturally gravitate towards when we can freely choose. And (last letter) are you a J or a P? Judger vs. Perceiver. The names to all these can be a little misleading. If you are a Judger, you likely are structured, like closure and schedules. If you are a Perceiver, it does not mean you perceive better, it's that, unlike the judger, you are less scheduled, "like to stay open to whatever comes next." But strengths, if overdone, can become weaknesses. A Judger may roll up his/her sleeves and get-it-done. But others can see them as inflexible and too stiff if everything doesn't go according to plan. A Perceiver can be easy-going, less hasty in decisions and more willing to look at more data, but too much of that can result in not coming to a decision or meeting deadlines. So, it's a matter of which way do we lean to more often--and--to what degree do we do it? Again, the book is called: Life Types. A good read. There are also websites on this. One that I liked reading was: www.personalitypage.com/html/portraits.html However, I would ignore those "words/"Names" that you see beside each of the 16 portraits. I feel these are arbitrary and subjective. i.e. who wants to be "just": the Mechanic? And wouldn't it seem really cool to be: the Visionary? I don't go by those. I'm more interested in what is said about each type in it's profile, and how that was arrived at. Also, I like the book Life Types better than websites I've looked at. My opinion. I hope all this didn't sound "too Nerdy." I like the outdoors, too. Sometimes I like good music and a cold beer. I read quite a few things. I may or may not believe them. I like to hear opposing views. Pro and Con. Even if something isn't perfect or still-needs-some-bugs-worked-out, it can still be useful. Insight is good and curiosity keeps Life interesting. #Psychology, #Personality, #Myers-Briggs, #16Types #Books, #MBTI What's a Blog without OPINIONS? Keep checking back. There will be more, and yours, are welcome, too. Which leads me to: Branding.
It's all the rage these days. Everybody needs to have a "brand." Supposedly. But, does anyone bother to ask Why? Not really. Most people hear other people say it and just follow along. I still remember, and it wasn't that long ago, when most people and businesses didn't even have a "Mission Statement." Or a "Brand." Think about it. Suppose you have a product. Or an Image to convey. Why not simply focus on Quality, ease-of-use and a 90-day guarantee (for most things) and call it good? Whether it's a new website or tires on your car, etc. Why not simply provide the same quality and service you would want or expect from others? Simple! I call it "Integrity." And I don't need to spend tons of money, or pay a marketing dept. to agonize over "image. " That will happen automatically (and positively) if: 1. The product is good 2. The service is good 3. The price is good 4. The reliability and smooth functionality is good. 5. The guarantee is good. Why not just do this anyway? Standard procedure. Good word will get around just fine. #Opinions #SocialMedia Flip Wilson. Comedian. Very popular on TV in the 1970's. He had some comedy record albums, too. I welcome your comments. :) #Jazz, #Blues Chances are, you have done more blogging than I have. I thought I'd give Weebly a try. Lots of people use Weebly and it looked easy to use in some youtube videos I watched. But have you used anything else? Like Wordpress? Wix.com or Jimdo? or Typepad? or Squarespace? Which was easiest to figure out and use without asking for help? Which gives you more control over fonts, sizes, colors, backgrounds and columns? Which is easiest to find other users who blog about topics you are interested in?
I would love to hear your feedback or comments. Thanks. #Blogging, #Weebly Like Sci-fi? This was on TV in the very early 70's. "The Immortal." It was a good show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=My_85FhMat8 #TV Here’s 5 books everyone (all ages) should read:
1. Bright-Sided by Barbara Ehrenreich (How positive-thinking has gotten out of control and gone overboard in business, the media & everyday life. Even more than you think. Reading about her history of New Thought is eye-opening). 2. Self-Creation by George Weinberg (One of the top 3 most useful & believable self-help/psychology books I’ve ever read). 3. The World Almanac Book of the Strange, Vol. ONE (This is the most level, even-handed treatment, pro and con, that I’ve ever seen of all that out-there stuff you’ve ever wondered about, like: The Pyramids, The Bermuda Triangle, Nostradamus, Atlantis, Easter Island, etc.) An interesting read. 4. Philosophy Made Simple by Richard Popkin & Avrum Stroll (I think it helps you to think more deeply and question things). Easy to understand. 5. Difficult Personalities by Helen McGrath & Hazel Edwards (How to deal with & understand the people who aggravate and frustrate you). Comments welcome. #Books, #Opinions |
